Bunjil Place Ambassadors

School Ambassadors for Bunjil Place

In 2017, Bunjil Place in the City of Casey neared completion. Bunjil Place is the first facility of its kind, bringing together creativity, entertainment and community in a way that is unparalleled in Australia. Since its grand opening, hundreds of thouands of people have walked through the doors and used the extensive facitlities it offers the general public.

We were very excited and very proud to be selected to be the ambassadors of the Centre from all the other schools in the local area!

After being selected, ten of our students from Year 3 and 5 spent a day with a film crew in our school to produce a clip, which was shown during the grand opening of Bunjil Place and can still be viewed in its Art Gallery.

As part of the filming, they used blocks to build a futuristic building design and answered different questions. Some of those questions were around their thoughts and feelings about the local Casey community, what they would create in a futuristic world if anything was possible and what the centre’s name Bunjil meant.

The filming process was a rich learning experience for our students who thourougly enjoyed the day. The particpated with great enthusiasm and honesty that only children seem to have. The final film was amazing! We were extremely proud to be selected but even more proud of our students’ contribution to its creation.
