How to Enrol

Step 1: Take a School Tour

You can take a virtual tour by clicking on the video below or you can contact the school and we will be delighted to take you around the school personally so that you can see what Maramba Primary School has to offer for your child/children. We hope you get a sense of our dynamic classrooms, open learning facilities and fun outdoor spaces.

Step 2: Browse through our website

Our school website has comprehensive information about the school that you can view and discuss with your child before or after the school visit.

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. The Department's Placement Policy gives schools, parents and carers greater clarity and to support consistent and fair decision-making. The Placement Policy includes a simplified priority order of placement, which is used to prioritise enrolment applications from outside the school zone. Students living within the school zone have been removed from the priority order as they are guaranteed entry to their local school.

The priority order of placement is:

- students with a sibling at the same permanent address who is attending the school at the same time

- all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Students from outside the school zone will no longer be prioritised for enrolment based on curriculum grounds. Enrolment on compassionate grounds remains in the Placement Policy as an overarching consideration. The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under 'school zones'.

Step 3: Talk to us!

Once you have seen what we have to offer, you may have questions and want to find out more. We love talking about Maramba Primary, so please contact us. You can call the school office during school hours or send us a message and we can arrange a personal callback.

Step 4: Fill Out An Enrolment Application Form

The formal enrolment process begins once an Enrolment / Application form has been filled out and submitted to the school via email or dropped off at Reception. Once an Enrolment / Application form has been provided to the school, it is then forwarded to the Assistant Principal and an Enrolment Interview is arranged. The Enrolment Interview is an opportunity for parents and children to meet with the Assistant Principal to discuss placement and answer any questions.

Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. You can find out if you are in our school zone by visiting findmyschool.vic.gov.au. If your permanent residential address is outside of our school zone, you can still apply and acceptance will depend on the number of spaces still available. Please contact the school office - 9796 7150 and they will be able to discuss your options.

Step 5: Join our Footsteps into Foundation sessions

If your child is joining us in Foundation next year then register in our Footsteps into Foundation sessions. Footsteps into Foundation allows your child to experience school activities in a way that feels fun and safe; allowing your child's transition to school to be smooth and enjoyable.

The sessions in Term 4 will be focused on the transition from kindergarten to primary school allowing the teachers to start observing each child in the class environment. These observations and activities provide teachers with important information about your child's stage of development and establish the level of academic and pastoral support they would benefit from at the beginning of the school year. Your child will have the opportunity to interact with their potential class mates and teacher for next year.
