Footsteps into Foundation

Foundation students enrolling at Maramba Primary School will be invited to join our Footsteps into Foundation transition sessions. These sessions help students learn classroom routines, become familiar with our school environment, and start building new friendships. It's also a wonderful opportunity for families to connect with one another and discover more about our school community.

School Zone and Boundaries

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

At this stage, Maramba Primary School is able to consider outside zone applications, please contact the school for further information on 9700 4488.

Placement Policy

The Placement Policy gives schools, parents and carers greater clarity and to support consistent and fair decision-making. The Placement Policy includes a simplified priority order of placement, which is used to prioritise enrolment applications from outside the school zone. Students living within the school zone have been removed from the priority order as they are guaranteed entry to their local school.

The priority order of placement is:

  • students with a sibling at the same permanent address who is attending the school at the same time

  • all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Students from outside the school zone will no longer be prioritised for enrolment based on curriculum grounds. Enrolment on compassionate grounds remains in the Placement Policy as an overarching consideration.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

International Students

The school ensures that international students receive a high quality education experience through a high level of support and care in a safe, welcoming and engaging learning environment.

Applications from international students are handled by the International Education Division of the Department of Education (DE). Individuals interested in applying need to contact DE on phone +61 3 9637 1000 or email international@education.vic.gov.au. Alternatively please visit study.vic.gov.au
