NAIDOC Incursion – Marcus Corawa

On Monday 18th June, we were very fortunate to have a very talented guest, Marcus Corowa, perform at our school as part of the lead up to NAIDOC celebrations.

Growing up in far north Queensland, Marcus’ earliest memories are of eating mangoes and playing the guitar – music is second nature to him. He draws on his Aboriginal and South Sea Islander heritage to create a soulful, soothing sound distinctly his own.

Marcus is currently performing at her Majesty’s Theatre in the musical production Beautiful: The Carole King Musical Australia. The musical has been running for a number of weeks and closes on the 1st July.

During the incursion, he performed some of his own songs and covers while sharing his story about his journey and following his dreams. Read more in a bio about Marcus in the newsletter.

Here is a clip you can watch where Marcus talks about following his dreams!
