Students, staff, and a few families participated in a very respectful, moving Remembrance Day assembly on Monday morning.
The assembly was exceptionally led by our school captains who did a tremendous job who introduced various aspects of the remembrance service including the Remembrance Day Ode.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.”
A special thank you to Mrs Robin Prescott for sharing a very personal account of the loss of her Grandfather to the war and impact of this loss to her family.
Representatives from each year level displayed the wreaths of flowers at the front of the
Assembly as a symbol of their respect and remembrance of the those lost to conflict. The Last Post was played followed by a minute’s silence.
Later in the morning, all classes laid their wreaths and flowers at the Lone Pine at the front of the school.
Well done everyone!
