Walk to School is back for 2019 and we can’t wait to get walking, riding and scooting to and from Maramba Primary School! Join this year’s active travel revolution by participating in this great event from the 7th of October to 1st November 2019.
Every October, Walk to School encourages Victorian primary school kids to walk, ride or scoot to and from school. It’s a great way to help students learn healthy habits and achieve the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity, every day.
Along with the health benefits, walking to school has benefits for the whole community. It reduces traffic congestion, saves on parking, helps us connect with family and friends and even saves the environment! There are so many great reasons to participate in Walk to School this October.
Classroom teachers will be recording each student that walks, rides or scoots to school on their classroom calendars. Students will a certificate at the end that recognises the amount of days they participated. Prizes will also be randomly awarded to students who make a special effort to walk, ride or scoot to school. Please also have a look at the Walk to School Facebook page as families can enter to win an AFL prize pack.
